Equine Massage and Complementary Bodywork for Large Animals certifications from Integrated Touch Therapy Inc.® . Course work included conducting equine massage case studies on rescue horses and nurse mare foals at Last Chance Corral in Athens, Ohio. Anatomy, dentistry, farriery and hoof care, saddle fitting and conformation were also part of the course work. EQUINE MASSAGE is incorporated into rehabilitation, training and ground manners programs. Massage will establish communication between humans and horses through touch. I establish positive leadership with each horse thus developing trust, confidence, and self-esteem. "When the human partner listens to the horse's cues with temperance and understanding, the horse will choose humans as their leaders every time." Mark Rashid - Horse Trainer In addition to equine massage, I spend time training and caring for horses at Capretta Quarter Horses in Ashville, Ohio. I am also continuing work with rescue horses. |

| Dede's Journey for the Horses |
| WHEN I WAS 2 YEARS OLD I knew that I was destined to work with horses. Ask my family members and they will tell you stories of who my heroes were. They were The Lone Ranger and Silver, Tonto and Scout, Dale Evans and Buttermilk, Roy Rogers and Trigger. This was my idea of the perfect couple. Annie Oakley was the wild and crazy girl that fueled my internal fire. Eventually, I surrendered my plastic action figures and moved onto the real thing. |

I remember my childhood as if it happened yesterday. My older brother would pack up his fishing gear and together we would hike to Crooked Creek. After some fun fishing and splashing in the water, we’d mosey to a nearby stable for some horsing around. We’d feed and groom the horses. In return, we were allowed to ride any horse at no cost. My brother and I did that everyday until I was 11 years old. My family moved and we were no longer within walking distance of Crooked Creek and the stable. For the next year, stable visits were limited to weekends only. As I grew older, the weekend visits ended but my love for horses continued into my adult life. |

Bill and I met the following Monday to discuss my interest and goals with horses. He gave me the responsibility of handling 3 yearlings and a 3 week old foal. None of the horses had been worked. Bill wanted somebody to teach each animal about manners and personal space. The horses needed to be “started” properly in the human/animal relationship arena. What’s the saying? “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” Bill became my teacher and I was the teacher for the horses. Each student was ready and willing to learn about “horsing around”. |

The next phase of my horse life began when I realized I no longer felt comfortable sitting behind a desk. I knew I was meant to be in a saddle, not in a chair in front of a computer. And so you have Exhale Equine Massage and Rehabilitation. Looking out for the horses. Dede Cole Certified Equine Massage Practitioner |
